Board metrics
Headlines on the dashboard are rebuilt from stored events. Tiles stay 0 or — until those events exist. Zarstat does not invent visitors, sessions, or rand.
Markdown · same page for crawlers. index, follow.
Sessions
A session is a run of events on the same first-party visitor_id with no gap longer than 30 minutes. The snippet also keeps a sessionStorage session id for the tab; the board number uses the 30-minute gap on timestamps, not that tab id.
Bounce rate
Sessions that contain exactly one pageview, divided by sessions. No sessions → the tile is —, not 0%.
Conversion rate
Visitors with at least one purchase, divided by visitors in the selected range. No visitors → —. Amount is rand, not cents.
Avg session duration
First event to last event in each session, in seconds, then the mean. A single-event session is 0 seconds.
New vs returning
Returning means that visitor_id was seen before the start of the selected 7d or 30d window. All-time has no prior window, so everyone is new. This is first-party localStorage, not a cookie. Clearing site data starts a new visitor. See cookieless and hostnames.
Pageviews
Count of stored pageview events in the range. Shown next to Visitors / ZAR / RPV. Those three stay the pin-able #1 KPIs.
Pin and filters
Click a row on Pages, Referrers, Devices, Browsers, OS, Campaigns, Hostnames, Cities, Regions, Entry, or Exit to compose a filter. Chips remove one constraint. Empty after a filter means no matching events — not a sample.
