Search keywords

The Queries tab loads clicks, impressions, CTR, and position from Google Search Console. Nothing is invented. The Search Console API and an OAuth web client are free. Do not enable Google Cloud billing for this.

What you get

After connect, pick a property. The board shows query and page rows for the last 7 or 30 days. The All range still asks Search Console for 30 days — that API has no all-time window. Status values: needs_env, not_connected, no_property, no_queries, connected, error.

Create the OAuth web client

  1. In Google Cloud, create or pick a project. Skip billing. If a step asks for a credit card, stop.
  2. Enable the Search Console API (Web Search Console / webmasters). That API is free.
  3. APIs & Services → Credentials → Create credentials → OAuth client ID → Web application.
  4. Authorized redirect URI: https://www.zarstat.co.za/api/gsc/callback
  5. If you test a Vercel preview, add that preview callback too, or set GOOGLE_REDIRECT_URI to the production callback and only connect from production.

Env on Vercel

On Vercel project cash-manager set GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID and GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET. Optional: GOOGLE_REDIRECT_URI. Do not paste those values into chat or into the dashboard. The refresh token is stored server-side per site and is never printed.

Connect

Open the dashboard Queries tab → Connect Search Console → pick a property. Disconnect drops the stored refresh token. If env is missing, Connect shows that message and does not crash.

This is not PageSpeed, Maps, or Ads. Those can require billing. Skip them. Domain verification in Search Console is separate — do not invent a verification meta tag here. Docs home.
